The Mermaid [Ceased Trading as a Pub/Bar] - A very large pub that had 5 bars - the Public Bar, the Stratford Lounge, the Warwick Lounge, the Orange Room, and the Green Room, it also had functions rooms upstairs to cater for wedding receptions etc. This pub later became Presidents - a balti restaurant. In 2010 it had two fires, a couple of days apart and caused extensive damage. The building was repaired but has lain empty since. The Antelope [Ceased Trading as a Pub/Bar] - This pub had a reputation for being a rough place to be, usually filled with 'navvies' fresh off the building site spending their days pay. Although I'd only ever been in this pub a couple of times I didn't encounter any trouble. On the corner of Stratford Road and Baker Street, Sparkhill, Birmingham. Image Date: 25/07/2012

Yew Tree - The Clumsy Swan [Still Trading as a Pub/Bar] - Around 1976-77 I used to pop in to the Yew Tree for a quick pint on a lunchtime if I was going to the bank opposite. The original Yew Tree pub was demolished in 2000, this new pub was built along with a small retail shopping park at the rear. On the corner of Hob Moor Road and Stoney Lane, Yardley, Birmingham. The Broadway - [Ceased Trading as a Pub/Bar] - The Broadway Public house opened in 1927, closed mid 90's. It is now a McDonalds. Located at the junction of Bordesley Green and Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green. Image Date: 15/11/2023
