Lillie (Named after one of Jersey's most famous residents - Lillie Langtry) - If you want to catch a train on the Island this is the only one you will be able to ride on, this photo was taken at the 'station' at the Elizabeth Castle Ferry kiosk on the Espolanade. The 'Petit Train' (Dotto Train) starts at Liberation Square and terminates at St. Brelade Parish Hall in St. Aubin, although it travels on the road, it is along the route of the disused railway line. First Tower - A Martello Tower, originally built for defence of the island. It once had a windmill built on top, later became part of a railway station on the Jersey Railway 1870 - 1936. Photo taken whilst travelling on 'Lillie'. Image Date: 31/05/2010

Defending St. Aubin - The fort in St Aubin's Harbour, it was built to defend what was to be the capital of Jersey, St Aubin is built on the side of a hill and thus greatly reduces the possibility of expansion. Image Date: 31/05/2010

St Aubin - As you can see, hills limit the amount of building expansion needed to become a larger town. Photo taken with the harbour behind me. Image Date: 31/05/2010

La Fregate Cafe - This Cafe is near to the ferry point to Elizabeth Castle, its shape, as you can see, is the upturned hull of a ship - I thought it to be rather clever design. Image Date: 01/06/2010

Elizabeth Castle - Elizabeth Castle, when the tide is out it is within walking distance - about half a mile (800 metres). Image Date: 31/05/2010

Elizabeth Castle Ferry - When the tide is in, this is the ferry that takes you to the Castle on the water, however, it also does do the journey on wheels when the tide is out - as like on this occasion. Image Date: 31/05/2010

The Barracks At Elizabeth Castle - Master Gunner Gillman (pictured with my Mother) will give you a history lesson about the Castle. Image Date: 01/06/2010
