Leaning On A Lamppost On The Corner Of The Street - Turned Out Nice Again - Statue of George Formby leaning on a lamppost on the corner of Lord Street and Ridgeway Street, Douglas. The dedication on the lamp post reads: - George Formby (1904-1961), Music Hall entertainer and actor. One of his popular films was the comedy 'No Limit', released on 23rd March 1936. Made on location in the Isle of Man, George competes in the TT races on his home-built Shuttleworth Snap. Sculptor is Amanda Barton. Image Date: 03/07/2011
