Room 101 - My Room for the Duration - Small and compact, it was just the sort of room I had looked for, I normally opt for a double room when on holiday but have been disappointed with the quality in other establishments, so I gave a single a go, and it's going to be single rooms from now on. It was big enough for me, had a great view, and I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I loved the quirkiness of this room, the increasing gap at the bottom of the door, the rising door frame, the leaning wardrobe, even the en suite shower (the door to the left is the en suite shower and WC) had a door that opened on the 'wrong side'. View From Room 101 - This image is what the pier looked like before a fire in the dome structure (centre of the picture) at about 15:00 on 30th July 2014, the rest of the pier (about two thirds) remained intact. It has since been repaired and is open to the public once again - although the structure in the middle has not been replaced. Image Date: 02/07/2014

Under the Pier - I don't know if all these hanging wires were live or not, but it does give you something to think about since the fire that nearly destroyed the pier was suspected to be an electrical fault. Image Date: 07/07/2014

Dotto The Road Train - Dotto trains have been around since 1962, I didn't ride on this one because I wanted to walk the route, to be honest there isn't much to see between the terminus near Sovereign Harbour (about 2 miles/3.2 Km east of the pier) and the pier, Dotto continues for another 1.5 miles/2.4 Km or so to the west (Hollywell Gardens). Somewhere to Rest a While - Along the promenade there are plenty of places to rest, unlike the town centre. This is the only one of its type that I saw whilst on my holiday; the other thing that attracted my attention was there was no vandalism/graffiti. Image Date: 06/07/2014

The Wish Tower - The building on the hill is The Wish Tower, a Martello tower, it was built to defend the coast from a possible French Invasion during the Napoleonic wars, several are dotted around the South Coast - there is another one about 2.4 miles/3.8 Km behind me close to Sovereign Harbour, this one however is in the process of restoration, currently being used as a cafe, may become a resturaunt at a later date.
